Who We Are

Who We Are

The Hammonton Community Endowment Fund is a permanent fund that supports projects and initiatives designed to improve and preserve the future of Hammonton, New Jersey. This fund was created through the Transform South Jersey Community Heart & Soul project, which gathered input from residents on what they value most about their town.

​

The endowment is managed by the Community Foundation of South Jersey, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are invested, and the principal is kept intact forever. Each year, a portion of the investment earnings is used to provide grants for worthy community projects.

 

By pooling resources from residents, businesses, and friends who love Hammonton, the fund ensures that the town can continue to be a vibrant and strong community for generations to come. Your contributions are 100% tax-deductible and help shape the future of Hammonton.

Hammonton's Heart and Soul Values

The Hammonton Community Endowment is driven by the Hammonton Heart & Soul Value Statements, which were gathered directly from the community.

♡ We cherish the small-town feeling of Hammonton with its walkable, tree-lined streets, and historic neighborhoods.

♡ We honor the strong family ties and traditions while striving to be more inclusive of our increasingly diverse population

through ongoing efforts to welcome new ideas so that

everyone can contribute to a thriving and

supportive community.

♡ We love Hammonton as a geographically desirable community due to its proximity and access to cities, the ocean, employment, and shopping while maintaining its rural status.

​

♡ We benefit from high-level access to essential community resources including governmental, municipal, health,

and social services.

​

♡ We treasure the variety of traditions that represent our entire community including festivals, parades, and recurring events that mark the seasons and provide a sense of community belonging.

♡ We value the presence of the fine and performing arts, which complement our unique, independently owned shops,

eateries, wineries, breweries, distilleries, and markets

to attract visitors to our community.

♡ We treasure the variety of parks and recreational fields where we can enjoy nature, exercise outdoors, and gather to

create memories with family and friends, resulting in

a better quality of life for our community.

♡ We are proud of Hammonton’s educational institutions, from preschool through college, which deliver strong academics, sports, and extracurricular activities while ensuring safety and

security for our diverse student population.

♡ We appreciate our farms and agricultural workforce who provide us with fresh produce and access to open spaces.

  

♡ We love the downtown’s historic buildings, central location, and variety of shops and eateries which offer a sense of community and nostalgia to all who visit and live here.
